Moong Dhal



This Moong Dhal Recipe can be used as a side dish for chapathi.

Quantity used below can serve : 2 people

Ingredients:

Oil - 1tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Onion - 1 (medium sized) chopped
Garlic - 2 pods
Tomato - 1 (medium sized) chopped
Moong dhal - 100 gm
Water - 250 ml
Salt - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves - few chopped

Method :

1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard and curry leaves. Wait for it to splutter.

                           


2. Add the onions and garlic to the pressure cooker. Fry till the onion turns brown in colour.

                           


3. Add the tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes on medium flame.

                          


4. Wash the Moong dhal once and add it to the pressure cooker. 
    Fry just for few seconds for the raw smell to disappear. 




5. Add water, salt,chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala powder and mix well. Allow it to 
    cook for 4 whistles. 




6. Let the pressure be released completely before opening the lid.




7. Transfer it to a bowl.

                                               


8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  
                

Serve with chapathi roti
