Bhel Puri


Bhel Puri can be served as a snack.

Quantity used below can serve : 2 people

Ingredients :


For Bhel Puri :
Mini puris - 20
Pori (puffed rice) - 25 gm
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)

Carrot - 1 medium (grated)
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)

Chat masala - a pinch

For Gravy:
Dried Green peas (cooked) - 40 gm
Potato - 1 medium
Coriander powder - 2 tsp

hilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt - as required
Water

To Grind :
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic - 2 pods
Green chilli - 2
Dried Green peas (cooked) - 110 gm

Method :

1. Soak dried green peas for 4 hours.


2. Pressure cook potatoes and green peas for 3 whistles. Drain the water.
    Peel the skin from potatoes and mash lightly.

 Add all the ingredients mentioned under "To grind" in a blender.  Grind to a coarse paste.

                           

4. In a pan, put the grinded paste. Also add all the ingredients mentioned for gravy  - cooked 
    green peas, mashed potato,coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, 
    garam masala and salt.

                                              


5. Mix well adding little water and cook until the raw smell diffuses.
    The gravy should be semi thick. 



6. In a mixing bowl, add puffed rice, roughly crushed mini puris, chat masala, a ladle of gravy and
    mix well. Add chopped onions and chopped tomatoes.

                                      


                                                      

7. Transfer it to a serving bowl and again pour a ladle of gravy on top of it.  Garnish with finely 
    chopped coriander leaves and grated carrot.
