Milagu Rasam (Pepper Rasam)


Milagu rasam can be served for lunch along with rice.

Quantity mentioned below can serve : 2 people

Ingredients :

Oil - 1/2 tsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Tamarind paste - 2 tbsp
Water
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - required

To Roast and Grind:
Oil - 1/2 tsp
Cumin - 1 tbsp
Peppercorns - 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Garlic pods - 2
Red chilli - 2 (long)


Method :

1. Heat oil in a pan.
    Add all the ingredients mentioned under "To Roast and Grind". 
    Let it fry on low flame till raw smell disappears.




2. Add the fried content to a blender and blend to a fine paste adding little water.

                                 


3. Heat oil in the same pan.




4. Add mustard and curry leaves. Wait for it to splutter.




5. Add the grinded paste to the pan.
    Add tamarind paste, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well adding required quantity of water.

        


7. Let it to boil just once.



Serve HOT with Rice.
