Jangiri


Jangiri can be served as a dessert.

Quantity mentioned below can make 30 jangiris.

Ingredients :

Oil - to deep fry
Urad dhal - 100 gm
Brown sugar - 3 tsp
Milk - 125 ml
Rice flour - 2 tsp
Cornflour - 1 tsp
Water (use very little water to avoid the jangiri's from absorbing too much oil)

Method :

1. Soak urad dhal for 4 hours.




2. Boil 3 tsp of  brown sugar in water.



3. Add 1/2 cup milk to the sugar syrup. 





4. Take the soaked urad dhal in a blender.




5. Grind the urad dhal to a fine paste adding very little water. Mix it with the sugar - milk syrup.




6. Take rice flour in a bowl.




7. Mix rice flour with cornflour and water. Make a paste.



8. Add the rice flour and cornflour paste to the dough.



9. Heat oil in a kadai to deep fry.
    Fill the piping bag/ziplock cover with the dough.





10. Squeeze the dough on a plastic sheet greased with oil. Gently transfer it to the kadai to deep
       fry. Or the dough can be squeezed directly into the oil.



11. Let the Jangiri cook on medium flame. Serve Yum :)
