Varagu Ven Pongal (Kodo Millet Pongal)


Varagu Ven Pongal can be served for breakfast with Onion Sambhar / Coconut Chutney

Quantity mentioned below can be used for : 2 people

Ingredients :

Oil - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Moong dhal - 50 gm
Varagu - 150 gm
Salt - as required
Hot Water - 500 ml

Method :

1. Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker.




2. Add cumin and curry leaves, wait for it to splutter.



3. Add water and salt. Mix well.




4. Add washed moong dhal and varagu. Let it cook on low flame for 30 mins.



5. Serve with sambhar / chutney as per wish.
