Mutton Gravy


Mutton Gravy can be served with Rice / idli.

Quantity mentioned below can be used for : 2 people

Ingredients:

Mutton pieces - 250 gm
Oil - 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
Onion - 1 medium (sliced)
Green Chilli - 1 (slitted)
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required
Water

To Marinate Mutton :
Cumin - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Red Chilli - 1
Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
Tomato - 1 medium (chopped)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required

To Grind :
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Fennel - 1 tbsp 
Water

Method :

1. Take all the ingredients mentioned under "To marinate"  in a blender and make into a fine paste.



2. Marinate the mutton with the blended paste And place it aside for 30 minutes.

                               


3. In the same blender add coconut and fennel. Blend into a smooth paste by adding some water. 
    Set aside.

                                          


4. Pressure cook the marinated mutton by adding water for 8 whistles. 
    Switch off the flame and let the pressure get released by itself. Transfer the content to a bowl.
   
                           
           


                      

5. Heat oil in the same pressure cooker. Add curry leaves and wait for it to splutter.

                                            


6. Now add onions and green chilli. Saute till the onion turns brown.



7. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well. Add the spice powders and mix well.

                                 


8. Now pour the cooked mutton content (retained in a bowl - step 4)  into the pressure cooker and 
    mix well. 



9. Add in the grinded coconut and fennel paste. Add salt and extra water according to the preference.



10. Add chopped coriander leaves. Close the lid and Pressure cook for 2 whistles.


             
                Switch off the flame and serve HoT...
