Green peas masala


Green peas masala can be served as a side dish for chapathi / Roti.

Quantity mentioned below can serve : 2 people


Ingredients :

Green peas (fresh/Frozen) - 200 gm
Water - 250 ml

To Roast and Grind :
Oil - 1 tbsp
Fennel - 1 tsp
Cashew (split) - 7
Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
Salt - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp

Method :

1. Heat oil in a kadai.



2. Add fennel and wait for it to splutter.




3. Add cashews and fry till they turn light brown.




4. Add the chopped onion and fry till the raw smell disappears. Switch off the flame.

                                 


5. Finally add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder. Mix well.
   

                                    


6. Once the roasted mixture cools, add them to a blender and blend to a smooth paste adding water.

                                   


7. Meanwhile, heat water in the same kadai.



8. Add peas (I used Frozen) and let it boil. Fresh peas might take a little longer to get cooked.



9. After the peas is well cooked, add the blended paste into the kadai.



10. Mix well and add water if required.



11. Let it boil until the desired consistency is obtained.

                                
             




Serve HOT ....!!!!
