Fish Curry


Fish curry can be served with white rice / as a side dish for idli.

Quantity used below can serve : 2 people.


Ingredients :

Sunflower oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Garlic - 5 pods (chopped)
Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
Salt - as required
Tomato -  1 medium (chopped)
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Cumin powder - a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Tamarind paste - 2 tbsp mixed with water
ButterFish - 5 medium pieces


Method : 

1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and wait for it to splutter.




2. Add chopped garlic pods and fry for 2 minutes.




3. Add chopped onion and fry till it turns brown in colour.




4. Add salt and mix well.




5. Add chopped tomato and fry for 5 minutes.



6. Add chilli powder, cumin powder and turmeric powder. Mix well adding water.




7. Add tamarind water to the pan.



8. Let it boil for 5 minutes.




9. Add fish pieces and let it cook for 10 minutes. Close it with a lid.
    Serve hot with white rice / idli.
