Spicy Potato Roast


Spicy Potato Roast can be served with curd rice, sambhar rice, etc.
It can also be used as a side dish for chapathi.

Quantity used below can serve : 2 people

Ingredients :

Oil - 3 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Potatoes - 4 (chopped) (peeled or unpeeled is your choice)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 2 to 3 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt - as required

Method :

1. Chop the potatoes.



2. In a non stick pan, add 3 tsp of oil. Add curry leaves and wait till it splutters.



3. Add the chopped potatoes to the pan.

 



4. Add salt, turmeric powder and asafoetida.

                              
           
                                                       


5. Add very little water if needed.
    Fry on low heat. After it is half fried, add in chilli powder and garam masala.
 
                        


6. Cook on low heat for another 10 minutes. (As we add very little water, cooking on low heat 
    prevents burning of powders we add)

                 

                                     Enjoy it with curd rice, sambhar rice, etc
