Jam drops


Quantity used below can make 18-20 cookies.

Ingredients :

Unsalted butter - 115 gm
White sugar - 50 gm
Egg - 1
Vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
Maida - 130 gm
Salt - 1/8 tsp
Jam - 113 gm
Almonds - 80 gm (optional) - see notes

Method :

1. Beat butter until fluffy, cream in butter and sugar.

           


2. Add egg, vanilla essence to it and beat well.

                  


3. Mix the salt with maida and fold it along with the wet ingredients. Form a dough

                             

4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.



5. Make small balls out of the dough (weigh them to ensure the uniformity) and space them
    evenly on a greased baking tray.




6. Make an impression (hole) with the thumb and fill it with jam.


            



7. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 180 degree Celsius


             
               




Note :
Chop the almonds, roast them by placing in an oven for 5 mins.
Roll the dough balls in the almond mixture before baking for almond coated jam drops.
