Kollu parupu (horse gram)



Kollu parupu can be served along with hot rice.

Quantity used below can serve : 2 people

Ingredients :

To Boil :
Horse gram - 100 gm
Water - 200 ml

To Grind :
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Peppercorns - 8 nos
Curry leaves - few
Red chilli - 1
Shallots - 5 nos (chopped)
Salt - as required

Method :

1. Wash the horse gram and drain completely. Add it to the pressure cooker along with water and 
    cook. (4 whistles)

                                 


2. Heat oil in a kadai. 




2. Add cumin and peppercorns, wait for it to splutter.





3. Add curry leaves, red chilli and fry for 2 minutes.




4. Add chopped shallots and fry till it turns brown in colour.






5. Add the fried ingredients to the mixer and grind well.






6. Add the boiled horse gram to the mixer along with salt and blend.


                  


7. Serve hot with white rice.
