Snake guard kootu can be served along with hot rice.
Quantity used below can serve : 2 people
Ingredients :
Oil - 1 tbsp
Fennel - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
Snake guard - 150 gm (chopped)
Channa dhal - 50 gm
Salt - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Sambhar powder - 1 tsp
Water - 150 ml
Method :
1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
2. Add fennel and wait for it to splutter.
3. Add curry leaves and fry for 2 minutes.
4. Add onion and fry till it turns brown in colour.
5. Add snake guard and fry for 2 minutes.
6. Wash channa dhal and drain completely.
Add the channa dhal to the pressure cooker.
7. Add turmeric powder, sambhar powder and mix well adding 200 ml water.
Cook on medium flame for 6 whistles.
8. Add salt to it and Serve hot with white rice.
