Ingredients :
To Grind :
Cumin - 1 tsp
Peppercorns - 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1/4 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Curry leaves - few
Shallots - 5
Desiccated coconut - 2 tbsp
Toor dhal - 2 tbsp
Yogurt - 50 ml
Water
To Temper :
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Other Ingredients :
Boiled Vegetables - optional
Salt - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Method :
1. Soak toor dhal in hot water for 15 mins.
2. Drain the water from toor dhal and add it to a blender.
Also add all the ingredients mentioned under To Grind' in a blender
5. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and curry leaves, wait to splutter.
Add onion and fry till it turns brown in colour.
Add required quantity of water, salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
7. Allow it to boil for 10 minutes. Switch off the flame.
